Reading is Rewarding

The girls participated in the library's summer reading program again this summer. It was definitely no problem to hit the 30-book-requirement for what we were shooting for...the circus tickets! Julia is an avid reader! We have to ask her to stop reading...
"Julia no books at the dinner table. We want to be able talk to you."
"Julia, make sure you get some sleep. You don't have to read three or four chapter books every night."
It feels so backward sometimes to ask her NOT to read, but you see what I mean.
Liliana also loves to "read." She looks at pictures and memorizes stories. We read her books every day and she loves it. She also looks at books every night before she goes to sleep. We are crazy about books around here! Even Simon loves to have books read to him. Especially if they star things with wheels.

Anyway, as I was saying...the circus.
We were all very excited to get to go. We got tickets with our friends, who also participated in the program, so we could all sit together. Beforehand, we met up at Papasito's so we could also celebrate some of our friends' birthdays and eat yummy food!

{It also happened to be the day Liliana got a couple of stitches from the broom falling on her head. She and Julia still like to think the broom is a toy. Anyway, she was very brave! I'm so proud of her!}

We had such a great time! It was a true "Bellobration."
Our favorites:
Simon really loved the elephants! Liliana loved Bello the clown. Julia loved the dogs performing. Nate and I enjoyed the show's theme this year (it was way better than last year). It even had parts that made me laugh out loud! (Bello the clown busting out to "You Can't Touch This" was quite funny!) Everyone loved the cotton candy!

That was a fun and CRAZY day! Poor Liliana looked so banged up, but still managed to have a smile on her face!!

We had a visit from Bello ourselves! I love the elephants and the dogs the best! You should tell everyone that Lili got cut swinging from the trapeze!
