Eight months old!

Since Simon is eight months old today, I thought it'd be fun to look back at pictures of the girls when they were that age. Liliana's were on our computer, but I had to be a little more creative when it came to Julia's pictures. Anyway, I think they all look different, but related. And, of course, I think they're all beautiful (or handsome). No bias here! :)

Simon at 8 months!
(poor guy bonked his head on the kitchen table leg...while he was crawling)

"Oh yeah, I could get used to this!""Need a ride?"

Surrounded by sisters.
And for his newest trick...
(let's just hope it stops there [on the 1st step] for now, right?)
He saw what he wanted on the stairs, and went for it!
See how proud of himself he was!
Way to go, Simon, my little stinker! :)

Some pictures I love...

I took a few shots of Simon the other day when he was sitting in front of the windows. The light was coming in and I liked the way it came through his hair. I just love these pictures! (probably because I love the subject so much!)

Crawlin'

Hey, check out Simon's motivation...I guess it starts young.

He started out with an actual crawl, then switched to the "army" variety. :)

And, yes, I know, our dog is a spaz. He was competing for attention and wanted to play. Funny guy!

"That is so funny!"

Julia was playing with Simon today and had him laughing so hard. I ran to get my camera to see if I could catch it...and I did! So cute! I love that they love each other!

Yeah, he's a little congested (it's that time of year, isn't it?)

Cute, cute!

I went to a choir practice last night and Nate took care of getting the kids to bed & everything (isn't he wonderful?) Anyway, I called Nate when I was on the way home and he said Simon was wanting his Mama. He was saying, "Ma-ma-ma" and waving. Nate said he just kept waving. He thought Simon might be "waving for his Mom." I just thought that was so cute! I hurried home to my baby. He was glad to see me! I took him, rocked & fed him and he fell fast asleep. I just LOVE being a Mom! There truly is nothing more rewarding, or satisfying. What an honor!

Simon's new "tricks"

My sweet baby boy is growing! Last week he started waving "hi" and "bye-bye" and it's soooo cute! I tried to capture a video that would do it justice, but it's so hard! And it seems to me as though he's trying to say "hi" sometimes too!

He is also army crawling now (and getting up on all fours to lurch himself forward). And, he says "Mama" (and he sure seems to know when to use it...when he wants Mama!) I'll try my best to get those on video too! It's so cute! I just love that little guy! He is always happy, content, and SO GOOD! We are so blessed!

The "unturkey"

Julia had a school project this week where she had to disguise a turkey (because turkeys don't want to be turkeys at Thanksgiving time). We asked her what she thought would be a good disguise for a turkey. She thought about it and said, "A peacock, because people don't eat peacocks." She has a point! She liked the idea of another bird because it would probably be a more believable disguise. Anyway, here are the results of her endeavor to disguise her turkey...

Concentration Techniques

Nate and I had a little laugh about these pictures. He said, "She gets that from me." I laughed and said, "me too!" It seems it must be a family thing to stick out your tongue while playing sports (at least, when you have control of the ball anyway). I think it totally helps!
Hey, why not? It worked for Michael Jordan! :)

{as always, click on the pictures for a larger view...you need it to see these}

Halloween

Just some shots of the kids at the beginning of the day.

This is what it feels like sometimes to the nursing Mom.
(He does have 8 teeth, after all).

The kids before trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.

Trick-or-treating (we left treats at our front door so we could
go out with the kids). We had a lot of fun!

Carving pumpkins on Halloween

Trunk-or-Treat

As I mentioned in my last post, we had a church "trunk-or-treat" last weekend. It was a lot of fun! Simon was a turtle, Julia was a frog & Liliana was a giraffe. There were lots of games, yummy chili, and, of course, CANDY!

One of my favorite things was that Nate stood between cars with a bag of candy to give out to the kids. I laughed so hard! I thought, "that represents our current minivan situation...there isn't one yet!" It's probably not that funny to you...but I found it hilarious! :)

Santa & Mrs. Claus were there giving out candy canes. I thought that was so cute!

Anyway, a great time was had by all. I just had to include the picture of the little "vampire." He's one of our friends' sons and he just looked so cute! His "teeth" are actually a binky.
